I am planning on creating a new WoW character. Suggestions?

I'm getting back to WoW after about a year. I would like to start a new toon from scratch. Any suggestions for cl, race and professions? I want something that can heal well and/or dps. I'm not really planning to level as fast as possible, but rather I enjoy pvp content and pve/groups/quests in all level ranges.
