Who called a tomato a fruit ? and why is it a fruit ?

I think people call it a fruit because you can hold it and eat it like a fruit (ex: apple) but I don't think that it should be a fruit because it doesn't tastle like one (ex: sweet, tangy and sour) What do you think ?
