Moluccan atoo?

a friend of mine that works closely with a bird rescue group has 2 moluccan atoos from katrina. she had originally kept one of them and her son took one. her son has decided after all this time that the bird does not fit into his family. so he has asked my husband and myself to take him which we agreed to do. my large bird experience is limited to just 2 large birds a blue and gold macaw that we had to rehome because he did not adjust after my daughter was born and kept trying to go at her, and a military macaw that my great uncle had my entire life that now my uncle has. the bird is use to kids and dogs and small birds which he also has in his home, just like i do in mine. does anyone have any experience with this particular breed of birds? if so any words of advice?
